No matter if you’re a freelancer online, an Internet marketer, or you run an offline business, there’s one thing that is true…
You want to generate more sales and profits.
When it comes to creating and running a successful business, it really comes down to these 3 basic fundamentals…
- Offering a product or service that people want or need.
- Putting the product or service in front of them.
- Selling it to them.
When you’re able to correctly implement all 3 fundamentals above, you’ll have success. In most cases, figuring out what people want or need, and getting it in front of them isn’t the problem.
The real problem comes when you have to SELL it to them.
If you do this online, this is where the power of effective copywriting can make or break you.
This can be with your own sales letter, sales video or in your email marketing.
If you do this offline, this is where the power of effective one-one-one salesmanship can make or break you. It can come down to the way you build connection and trust with the prospect.
I remember when I was fresh out of college, I was on my search to find a new job.
Unfortunately, the economy wasn’t great and I wasn’t clear as to what I wanted to do. My degree was in Business and Marketing (with an Art Minor).
During that unsettling time, I had to take on any job I could find just to pay the rent.
That’s when I ended up as a shoe salesman for a short time. Not really a great fit for an introvert like me (and someone with a college degree) but hey, I had to pay the bills.
Fast forward nearly 17 years, and several jobs later, and now I’ve been a successful Internet Marketer and Copywriter for over a decade, working for myself.
When I look back at that time as a shoe salesman and how I became successful with my one online businesses and in copywriting, I’ve come to realize that ONE single word probably accounted for at least 80% of my success.
Let me explain my thoughts on this powerful word, and how it can transform the way you think about business and profits.
I’ll also explain how you can use it to your advantage with your own personal and financial success as well.
But first, don’t let this super simple word fool you.
It has tremendous power.
I want you to think about the word “YES” in 2 different ways. The VERBAL usage of “Yes”…and the MENTAL usage of “YES”.
- Verbal is when you physically say yes out loud through voice.
- Mental is when you mentally say yes within your own mind.
Two different ways to say yes. Subtle. But that slight subtle difference can be huge.
Let me explain…
Using “YES” in Life…
When you say yes in life, it has a unique and almost magical power to opening more doors of opportunity.
One “YES” can open 10 different doors of unknown opportunity, while saying “NO” can open zero.
When you say “YES” to the unknown, you never know what’s around the corner.
When you say “NO”, nothing changes in your live. You go absolutely nowhere.
If you want to read how saying “YES” to nearly everything can completely transform your life, be sure to read The Surrender Experiment.
It’ll show you the real power of what can happen when you surrender to the flow of life, and just let go.
“If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you are not sure you can do it, say yes. Then learn how to do it later.” — Richard Branson
When you say “YES” in life, you’ll end up doing more new things, become more creative, and you’ll expand your own mind and levels of personal happiness.
“YES” is a very powerful and POSITIVE statement that can change you from the inside out.
Using “YES” in Business…
When it comes to business and being successful online or offline, what I’ve discovered is the more you can get a prospect or client to say “Yes!” to themselves on the mental level, the greater chances you’ll have to makes sales.
This doesn’t mean asking them, “Do you want to buy my product or service?”
It means making the right connection with them (through powerful copywriting or in person) to say “YES” on a mental level in a non-direct way before you ever ask for the sale.
See the difference?
At first this mental “YES” response can be created by asking questions like these (especially in online sales copy or emails)…
“Are you sick and tired of suffering with migraine headaches?”
“Do you need an all-in-one solution that solves the problem of XYZ?”
“Don’t you hate it when you want more time for yourself, but XYZ gets in the way of your freedom?”
When you’re able to continue to get a mental “YES” response from your prospects online or offline, you have secretly connected with them, and gained a bit of their trust.
The more you get a continual “YES” response as you get closer to the sale…the higher chances they’ll say yes to that too.
This will mean more sales and profits for you.
Now it’s time to think about unique ways you can implement this tactic into your own marketing strategy.
It’s a subtle one, but it can be super powerful.
Try it and see.
